Simple prices for clarity. I charge £90 in normal working hours 09:00 – 17:00 and £120 outside of these hours. This covers you for all labour for your issue or job, whether it takes me 10 minutes or 10 hours. There are then charges for parts which varies from £10 to £210 and up, depending on what you need. Some items such as 3 star diamond grade locks are charged at a supply and fit rate (£120/lock). With this product, there is no labour charge. This will be explained once you make contact. There is no VAT to pay and no call out charges. If I don’t solve your issues, no payment is due. No fix, no fee gauranteed. 

Incorrect prices can easily be given from a verbal description due to inaccuracies of information provided, so sending pictures/video via Watsapp, email or text can help ensure quotes are accurate.

A locksmith “bait and switch” is a scam that you need to be aware of when hiring a locksmith. The bait and switch price scheme is where a customer is lured in by an initial cheap price advertised, only to be hit with a bill that is more often than not a minimum of 10 times more expensive than the advertised fee! The ‘cheap locksmith’ will advertise a low cost or quote a low price such as £39, £49 or £59, only for the final price to be much higher. If you are speaking with a call centre, and they are advertising these low prices, then you may be about to fall victim to this scam.

We have seen customers have £60-120 added on to their final bill for a ‘same day booking’ fee (another name for a call out fee); and we often hear about a surprise VAT addition at the end too. Always check if a call out fee or VAT is due on top of the quoted price. Only businesses turning over £85,000/year are required to VAT register, so small independent businesses don’t need to charge the extra 20%, and can save you money.
